I'm Liesl! Thanks for stopping by!
I am a 20-something, single, Catholic gal living in the DC area.
I could spend hours answering the "Who are you?" question, but I think that someone doing a Google search who landed on my blog found the best way to describe me:
"Sexy modest Catholic."
Yep, that about sums it up!Our Miami, here's to thee! |
I studied Chemistry and English Literature at Miami University in the gorgeous Oxford, OH. I then moved to DC and received a Master's degree in Chemistry from The George Washington University.
I work for the federal government, where I do a combination of chemistry, writing, and law. Most of the time, I love my job, and I am always learning something new!
This was when I was an only child and didn't have to compete at being adorable. |
Tell me about the fam.
Why, I would love to tell you about the fam!
I have a mom and a dad, as all people do. They are very loving and generous - always making sacrifices for the good of the family.
I am the oldest daughter of four girls. I am what you would call the typical oldest child... I tend to be very competitive. I am proud to stake claim to the title of Scrabble champion of the family! I'm also the sister that everyone asks for fashion advice (still haven't figured that one out...).
What's your faith background?
I'm in love with Scripture, Tradition, the Pope, and the Church - I am a cradle Catholic! I started to grow deeper into my faith after an intense retreat experience my senior year of college, and I started building a firmer foundation under that with my big move to DC. I began to learn the beauty of what the Church teaches through a few friends, a couple of orthodox priests, and the Holy Spirit working in my life. I'm proud to say today that I am 100% Catholic!
Wow, you seem super cool. What else should I know about you?
I'm a band geek. This one time, at band camp... No, I'm not quite like that! I might mention my band nerdiness it from time to time, but I mostly make a lot of references to music, especially music that has helped me on my faith journey!
I have a crush on William Shakespeare. The man has a way with words, what can I say. Too bad he is dead. Never fear, though... he was secretly Catholic, so if I get to Heaven someday - God willing! - maybe I will be able to meet Shakey Poo.
Exhibit A: My great fashion sense.... uh, I mean, my quirky sense of humor. |
I think you are the bees knees. How can I get in touch with you?
Well, I am flattered! You are welcome to leave a comment on one of my posts, follow me on Twitter at LieslChirps, or e-mail me at spiritualworkoutblog@gmail.com.
So happy I found your blog! For some reason it's unusual to find a blog by a woman who works full time, and you're also in DC! And non-cheesy humor is overrated.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Glad you found me too! I am working hard for the money and full-time too! Maybe someday that will change but for now I gotta pay rent!
